Tandem...
A skydiving experience
you will always remember!
A Tandem skydive is an introduction to the exciting world of skydiving. From the moment you walk into the building, you will feel that you are in for a unique experience. Once the paper work is completed, you will be personally introduced to your tandem instructor. Your instructor will spend the necessary time to explain a tandem skydive and how you can best add to the enjoyment of your tandem skydive.
Your instructor will explain how you can do tumbles and spins in freefall and also will explain how you can do spirals under canopy. He will then ask you to customize your tandem skydive by telling him what you want.
After you and your instructor have designed your tandem skydive, you will begin to get ready. On a tandem skydive, you and your instructor will share specially designed skydiving equipment built for two people.
Red Rock Skydiving offers you the opportunity to sit in an actual airplane seat while the aircraft is flying to the altitude from which you will skydive. During the flight, usually lasting from 15 to 18 minutes, you will be amazed by the aerial tour around the Verde Valley. Your instructor will point out the ancient Indian ruins and the historic mining town of Jerome. Now you are over the red rocks of Sedona where you will see the famous Cathedral Rock, Courthouse Rock, Bell Rock, and many others. Your instructor will also direct your attention to the San Francisco Peaks above Flagstaff, Sycamore Canyon and the Verde River Canyon. Some days it is possible to see even the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Then you will fly back over the Cottonwood Airport. After you are securely fastened to your instructor, the pilot will open the door and it is time to skydive. You and your instructor will skydive together from the aircraft and freefall for over a mile. The instructor will pull the ripcord and you will both descend gently to the ground sharing a canopy engineered for two people. The next 3 to 5 minutes will be breathtaking as you float quietly back to earth while still enjoying the spectacular red rock scenery around Sedona. You are so glad you have chosen to video your adventure!
